Nepal is exceptionally rich in wild life diversities. Though the country is smaller in area, Nepal has 14 national parks and wildlife reserves. Most of the National parks are dense tropical jungles teeming with diverse wildlife and exotic birds. Ride on elephant back or drive your four-wheeler to view wild animals in their natural habitat or you might escape for a canoe rides on the jungle rivers. You can also go for village walking or birds watching. Chitwan is the home of Nepal's wildlife, which has over 43 species of animals. It is very popular Safari destination in mid western region. 

Destinations

Established in 1973, Chitwan National Park is one of the best destinations for Jungle Safari. The proximity from Kathmandu to Chitwan National Park is very little as a few hours drive or a flight of 20 minutes is enough to reach the destination.

Bardia National Park is located in the Far-Western Region, Nepal  which was established in 1988 as Royal Bardia National Park. Covering an area of 968 km2 it is the largest and most undisturbed wilderness area in the Terai, adjoining the eastern bank of the Karnali River in the Bardia District.

A very important wetland, The Koshi Tappu Wildlife Reserve is a 175 km² of wildlife refuge and wetlands habitat established in 1976 located in Eastern Nepal. It can be accessed from the Mahendra Highway.
