Mount Annapurna Expedition

Mount Annapurna Expedition

Mt Annapurna [8091 m] lies in central western part of the inner Himalaya, in the Annapurna range, north of Pokhara. Mt Annapurna was first successfully scaled by Maurice Herzog and his expedition team in 1950.

This was probably the first team in the world to climb the mountain over 8,000m high. The team was first who was granted permission to attempt to climb Mt. Annapurna I by the Nepal government.
