Birth place of Buddha, the lord of peace, and the country of the highest peak of the world, Nepal is a Himalayan country, wedged between the two giants - India and China.  East, West and South of Nepal is bordered by India and in the north there is the great Tibetan Plateau, which is an autonomous region of China. Nepal is the only country where 8 of the 14 highest mountains of the world stand with glory.  On every side, a skyline of fluted snow and ice peaks soar beyond the imagination rise above the trails, the campsites and valleys. Altitude ranging from 60 meters in Kanchan Kalan (Terai) to 8848 meters (Mt. Everest), Nepal is an example of great diversities in its geography, ecology and ethnic civilizations.  It is a home of incredible varieties of ecosystem, the greatest mountain ranges, dense tropical jungles teeming with a wealth of wildlife, thundering rivers, forested hills and frozen valleys. The country is a potpourri of ethnic groups, customs and traditions. From the humid and tropical southern Terai lowlands to the frozen alpine regions of the Himalayas in the north, we find different colourful cultures & people co-existing in harmony for centuries.    

The country also offers an astonishing diversity of sightseeing attractions and adventure opportunities found nowhere else on earth! A visitor can join in the numerous annual festivals that are celebrated throughout the year in traditional style highlighting enduring customs and beliefs. There are more than 100 ethnic groups in Nepal. Each one has different beliefs, culture and tradition. So, there is something to celebrate everyday round the year. Nepal has become a favourite destination for the research scholars in the fields of Language, culture and ethnicity due to immense diversities within a single village.

Nepal is an intricate and beautiful tapestry formed by the interweaving of Hinduism, Buddhism and other beliefs. Religious tolerance and harmony such as is found in Nepal, is perhaps a unique example to the world.

Fabulous arts/paintings, wood carvings, metal carvings, and traditional handicrafts are another beauty of Nepal which is continuous from ancient time. Millennium- old statues standing along the way side, songs and dances unchanged for centuries and entire cities preserved in their medieval splendour.

In addition to enjoying numerous activities of choice in Nepal, it is also a significant transit point for travelling to Tibet (China) Bhutan, Darjeeling and Sikkim (India).
