Bumthang Cultural Trek

Bumthang lies in the Central Bhutan.The trek begins with  a long drive to Trongsa Dzong,theanestral home of royal family spotting picturesque sights move.There are lot more to see in Trongsa town followed by a Lunch and overnight at the lodge. Next day demands a little bit of physical fitness as five hours is scheduled for hiking passing though villages,

 fields and forests and also crossing over suspension bridges and Chamkhar River. Here,one can explore his fishing skill here since enough trouts are available. Then comes Thangbi Lhkhang  with typical ethnicity .The end point of this trek is Swan Land ,where Swan Temple exists, a blend of peace and beauty.After an overnight stay the trek comes to an end.

This three days trek is ideal for average walkers as the altitude does not go above 3,400 meters (11,155 feet). The trek crosses several villages and wends through the picturesque Bumthang countryside, giving an exceptional opportunity to be in contact with rural life. This trek is best done from October to May. 

 

 

Itinerary of Bumthang Cultural Trek

Days Activities
01. Fly to Paro: 
02. Thimpu Full Day Sight seeing. Overnight: Hotel in Thimphu.
03. Thimpu – Trongsa The drive would take about 7 Hours. Overnight: Hotel in Trongsa.
04. Trongsa – Bumthang Drive would take about 3hours. Lunch in Hotel, Bumthang. Afternoon: sightseeing. Overnight: Hotel in Bumthang.
05. Bumthang Full day sightseeing. Overnight: Hotel in Bumthang.
06. Bumthang– Nga Lhakhang (First Day of Trek: Distance 5Hours. Overnight: Camp in Nga Lhakhang
07. Nga Lhakhang – Ugyen Chholing: Distance 5 Hours. Overnight: Camp in Ugyen Chholing
08. Ugyen Chholing – Tang Valley: Distance 5 Hours. Overnight: Hotel in Bumthang.
09. Bumthang – Punakha Driving distance is 8Hours. Picnic Lunch at Chendebji. Overnight: Hotel in Punakha
10. Punakha – Thimpu Distance 3hours. Overnight: Hotel in Thimphu’
11. Thimpu – Paro Distance: 2hours Overnight: Hotel in Paro
12. Depart from Paro.
