The Kingdom of Bhutan, small landlocked nation cradled in Himalayas. India and China are two powerful neighboring countries of Bhutan. Bhutanese also refer Bhutan as Druk –Yul(“Land of Thunder Dragon”) because of the violent snow storms.

The country strongly follows Buddhist Culture. It was in the 8th century only when the Guru Rinpoche arrived in Bhutan from Tibet and started practicing Buddhism. Bhutan is rich in its culture, architecture and archery and it’s natural surroundings from forests to serene mountains. The devotion towards the traditional culture and lifestyle by the Bhutanese is remarkable. In 2006, Business Week magazine rated Bhutan the happiest country in Asia and the eighth-happiest in the world, based on a global survey.

The kingdom has constrained their domestic policies and decision for tourism development and Policy to avoid the influence in the much guarded culture and natural beauty of Bhutan resulting a new identity of Bhutan as “Last Shangri-la”and the crown Jewel of the Himalayas.

Small and Mystique Bhutan has a distinct appeal. From the Snowman trek to kayaking down the Mochhu, from witnessing the colorful festivals to the panoramic mountain flight “Druk –Yul” has much more to offer.
